PAX's Android Payment Leader in Australia & New Zealand

PAX Technology Australia (PTA) is a subsidiary of the global Android terminal giant PAX, founded in 2017 by Debra Taylor and Nigel Lovell as the local distribution company for payment terminals in Australia and New Zealand and acquired by PAX Hong Kong in 2024. Under new CEO Michael Johnson's leadership, PTA is positioned as the market leader in Android payment solutions, leveraging PAX's internationally acknowledged dominance in Android payment devices and first-mover advantage in the sector.

Innovating Payments at Scale for Australia and New Zealand
Innovating Payments at Scale for Australia and New Zealand

With PAX's state-of-the-art manufacturing capacity of one million terminals monthly globally and substantial R&D investment of 11% of revenue, PTA delivers cutting-edge payment technology through its comprehensive ecosystem, including the MAXSTORE Terminal Management System and locally-installed Hardware Security Module in Sydney that ensures data sovereignty for Australian clients.

As merchants increasingly demand innovation beyond traditional banking offerings, PTA is strategically targeting Banking and Financial Service institutions, while expanding its presence across tier-one Merchants and Acquirers, supported by proven success with major clients including Virgin Australia, A2B taxi group, and Queensland Light Rail – further cementing its position as the dominant vendor across Australia and New Zealand.

Superior Quality and Focused R&D

Customers worldwide recognise that PAX products have extremely low failure rates, that we provide the most efficient technical support, and that we have the widest portfolio of innovative & elegant payment devices.
